Remote telecallers can perform as well as office teams if you replace looking over shoulders with clear numbers and a regular rhythm. The goal is visibility, not surveillance.
1. Set clear daily targets
Agree on calls, connected calls, follow-ups done and meetings booked. Write them down and share the scoreboard with everybody.
2. Track from the call log
Use an app that reads calls on the company SIM, so the numbers are accurate and nobody has to report by message. Exclude personal numbers.
3. Use simple attendance
Punch-in and punch-out in the app, with a start-of-day check-in message. Define core hours so managers know when to expect activity.
4. Coach with recordings
Each week listen to a few calls per person. Praise something specific and pick one improvement. This builds skill faster than daily reminders.
5. Hold a short daily huddle
Ten minutes by phone or video each morning: yesterday result, today target, one tip. Keep it brief.
6. Protect the data
- Keep leads in the company CRM, not on personal sheets.
- Mask customer numbers where possible.
- Restrict exports and screenshots.
- Remove access immediately when someone leaves.
7. Review weekly, reward visibly
Share a weekly leaderboard and recognise good work. Have a private conversation with anyone below target to find out what is blocking them.
Warning signs
- Short calls with very high counts.
- Statuses updated without matching calls.
- Missed follow-ups piling up.
These show up quickly in a good report, which is why call-log based tracking beats trust-me reporting.
